A crazy idea...

Yang Ya-Chin is a Taiwanese blogger living in Paris. She´s challenged herself to kiss 100 parisian men (who she randomly finds on the streets according to my understanding) and of course capture it on film!

THIS is her blog which can be enjoyed by those who can read chinese...for the rest of us HERE is an album with pictures of her conquestes. Some of them look more into it than others!

So im back in Sweden but i´v decided to continue posting some things from Taiwan for a while (im still mentally stuck in Taiwan mode and im refusing to let go...I want to go back!). Seeing as I took over 3000 pictures in 2 months i´v got material that could last for a while!

A Beautiful city

The past few days have been beautiful...yet almost unbearable! 35 degrees isnt something i´d normally complain about but lets just say I for once appreciate the air conditioner on full blast!

These pictures are taken from the roof of the building im living in. Its not exactly made for tanning up there but why not?

Yesterday we went to one of the mountains located close to the Xinyi district and the Taipei 101 building (which was the tallest building in the world from 2004-2010); Elephant mountain. After getting slightly lost trying to find the way from the station to the trail it didn't take more than a minute or two until we were saved by three locals who could sense we needed help. Luckily they were also on their way there which ment we had just gotten ourselves three personal guides. The Taiwanese are so friendly and helpful it surprises me everytime.

Its really increadible how close the nature is to the city.

Very steep and 35 degrees....not a good combination!

Pastel perfect Alice

Cute like a doll.
Modern day Alice in Wonderland?
3 sets of socks + 3 shades of pink= Perfection!

sneakers...

They love their sneakers over here so its kind-of impossible not to find any that suit your style.

My new favorites are these grey converse which are made out of jersey with a hint of colors faded into the fabric. I pimped them with some sparkly laces to make them a little bit cooler :)

Sometimes it rains.....

...but that is ok because in Taipei there is always a convenient-store (7/11, Hi Life, Welcome etc.) no more than a couple of hundred meters away where you can buy yourself an umbrella for about 80 NTD (about 18 kr). From where im living there are at least 10 convenient stores that I can reach within 5 minutes. Apparently Taiwan has the highest concentration of convenience-stores in the world; almost 10,000 in an area of 36,000 sq kilometers (read more here- LINK).

I guess the Taiwanese have the right to their favorite saying "Hěn fāng biàn" - "Very convenient"!

This is my third umbrella iv bought in the last month.
Since you never bring it along hoping you wont have to use one, you just buy a new one!

Hannes very cool race-helmet umbrella which everyone is very jealous of!

A rainy day at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

A rainy day in the northern part of Taiwan; Keelung

Colorful umbrellas at Weekend Fever

Conclusion:

Yǔ sǎn hěn fāng biàn! = Umbrellas are very convenient!

Fashion show at Fu Jen University

I attended a fashion show at Fu Jen University here in Taipei on Saturday. I didn't know what to expect since I didn't even know what student were presenting but apparently it was the final collection by the Fashion Design Master Students. It was really overwhelming and so impressive! Student after student kept surprising me with such creative and inspiring collections and I couldn't stop thinking about how much time and passion they must have spent on this. It was everything from crazy couture-like creations to beautiful casual-wear and what surprised me the most was the menswear. My favorite collections were actually menswear which is usually not the case.

Unfortunately i dont know the name of the students nor the collections but I am sure some of these students will become very successful in the future, so ill try to find out my favorites!

Advanced knitting techniques

Mixing and matching materials

Brush-like skirt

Absolutely stunning dress

Neon creations that were mostly visible in UV light

My favorite piece in my favorite collection. The models all wore badminton balls in-front of their glasses.
This is a really nice faded denim jacket with a embroidery in faded pastels.

Faded pastels

Leather shorts with beed embroidery and beautiful prints on silk

This collection was really creative where the theme was accessories as part of the actual garment.
This one is two huge earrings.

Giant watch

Beautiful prints in this collection and I particularly love the design of this top.
It reminds me of the 50´s!

Sherlock Holmes collection, very well made
